Prison Ministry Mumbai is a Voluntary Organisation working for the release, rehabilitation, reformation, renewal and reintegration of prisoners. With the motto of ‘’Be a love bomb, let it explode not to kill but to heal the broken hearted”
PRISON MINISTRY MUMBAI
The Archdiocese of Mumbai started prison ministry in the year 2001 under the title (PMM) Prison Ministry Mumbai. Today we have 150 plus PPM volunteers, who are committed and dedicated. This is a ministry where service is rendered away from the public gaze, but we believe that God has given us an opportunity to serve these inmates. The purpose of this ministry is to witness the compassionate heart of Jesus without being judgmental, shower the love of Jesus without being critical, and lead them to the virtuous path without being condemned. This is done irrespective of cast or religion. We consider ourselves blessed that God has given us chance to witness his love and compassion through this ministry. In Mt. 25:40 “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers that you do unto me.” When these words turn into action, we work towards establishing the kingdom of God here on earth.

Lord God Almighty, our loving Father, you created all human beings
in your own image and likeness. But we offend you in many ways.
We pray to you for our brothers and sisters behind bars though some
of them are innocent and accused wrongly.
Some have been forced into evil ways and practices, while others have failed due to their own frailties.
Father, forgive them and enlighten their hearts and minds to realise their own weakness and help them to repent. Inspire their dear ones, families and society to accept them in spite of all their flaws and failures.
Lord help their victims to forgive them. Bless all those who are working
with them and for them.
Bless the jail authorities that they may be kind, gentle and understanding towards those under their care.
Lord stretch out your healing hands and touch all our brethren behind bars and help them to lead a renewed life. We make this prayer through
